Foundation includes in-game bug reporting via LadyBug. Players and QA can submit bug reports without leaving your game. Reports include screenshots, system info, and reproduction steps - and they land in your existing workflow automatically.
How it works
LadyBug is an in-game overlay. Press a hotkey (configurable, default F12), submit a report with a screenshot and description, and the report goes to your studio’s bug tracker. No external tools needed. No friction.
The report includes:
- Screenshot of the moment the bug occurred
- Player/QA description
- Game version
- Hardware profile (GPU, CPU, RAM, OS)
- Game state (current level, character position, etc. - if you want to capture it)
- Network conditions (if applicable)
All of this is sent to your bug tracker - Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues, YouTrack, or your other supported PM tool.
Integration
LadyBug integrates with your PM tool during onboarding. Hypercade configures the connection. From that point on, in-game reports appear as tickets in your existing workflow. No manual sync. No duplicate data entry.
Supported trackers:
- Jira
- Linear
- GitHub Issues
- YouTrack
- Asana
If you use a different tool, reach out. The integration can often be extended.
Configuration
In the Hypercade portal, you can:
- Set the hotkey for opening LadyBug (F12 is default, change if needed)
- Choose which game state to capture (position, inventory, etc.)
- Set the default priority for in-game reports (helps QA flag critical issues)
- Enable or disable reports from specific game builds
Engineers can focus on code. QA can file bugs faster. Less time typing in forms.
Privacy
In-game reports are sent only to your studio. They are not shared with other studios, Hypercade staff, or third parties (except your bug tracker, which you control). If a report contains sensitive data, it stays in your system.
Players should always know that in-game bug reporting is enabled. Include a note in your privacy policy or loading screen if needed.
Troubleshooting
LadyBug overlay not appearing: Check that it’s enabled for your build in the portal settings. The hotkey may also be bound to another action - try a different key.
Reports not reaching the tracker: Verify your PM tool credentials are correct in the portal. Check that your tracker project is accessible to the integration account.
Missing screenshots: Some hardware configurations may fail to capture screenshots. The report will still go through with text only.
